Saving Files in the Gallery (for MediaGallery Subscribers)

After you login and find a photo you like, above the photo or clip is a tiny blue icon with an I (for info) on it.  Click on that icon to make sure the file info is displayed which is shown below the photo or video.  Under the photo in the file information is an option to ADD TO FAVORITES.  Click on that link.

Then the page will refresh.  In the bottom part of the banner above are several links, including one that says MY FAVORITES, click on that.  You’ll see the file(s) you’ve chosen as favorites.

Above those files, to your right is a link to ” Download as Zip file.”  Click on that and it will download the (file(s) you’ve chosen to your desktop (or where ever you default is for files downloaded from the Internet.)

If you are downloading video clips, please only zip one clip at a time.  Some of those files are huge and more than one would take forever to download to your hard drive.

Once the download is completed, open the zip file and watch the clip.  If you have video editing software (I am guessing that basic burning software will allow this as well but I use editing software so I don’t know for sure.) If they files are MPEGS, you can burn them to a DVD and watch them on your television and most will look great.  If they are NOT MPEGS, you can still burn them to a DVD.  They just won’t look very good.

The other way to save my video files to your hard drive is to use your browser and choose SAVE AS from your file menu.  Save the page to your desktop and then open the folder on the desktop with the files in it.

Video clips take time to make.  Please don’t share these with your friends.  Encourage them to join the Media Gallery.
